— This is how it all works: Treason is already against the law. The government then passes a law so flagrantly unconstitutional and antithetical to America’s founding principles (one of which being that even our worst criminals shall receive a fair trial with due process), that concerned citizens have no choice but to revolt against a government that has all but declared every citizen an “enemy combatant” in that same government’s completely fabricated “War on Terror.” And just like that we’re a police state comparable to Maoist China or Stalin’s Soviet Union, or any formerly speculatively fictitious police state out of Orwell or Huxley. I hope everyone’s ready for the worst American century yet. I swear I’m really not usually this alarmist, but that a bill such as this could so easily pass our Senate is cause for outrage.
