An oil change every 3,000 miles? California officials say it’s a waste. Nationally 51% of vehicle owners said they believe oil should be changed every 3,000 miles or three months, according to an NPD Group survey. Few manufacturers require such an aggressive maintenance schedule. The state hopes to break car owners’ habit of changing oil too often.

Good article, especially all the references in movies to insults about characters not being able to drive. I never even noticed that before. I think it is because movies are made in L.A. where the public transportation is still sub-par. The part about 500 Days of Summer being originally set in San Francisco makes a WHOLE lot of sense. I couldn’t be sure exactly where they were for most of that movie!
